Under the shell

GaN,
explained simply.

TheOne is not a pretty casing dropped onto anonymous electronics. It is the other way round: French power electronics that were finally given a shape.

Why are chargers so big?

For forty years chargers were built around silicon transistors. They work, but they switch slowly: on every cycle part of the energy leaves as heat. Shedding that heat takes volume. That is why powerful chargers are big.

Gallium nitride (GaN) changes the equation. The semiconductor handles higher voltages and switches far faster, with markedly lower losses. At equal power you can shrink the passive components — and the casing with them.

In practice: 65W in a pebble that sits in the palm of your hand, stays lukewarm, and carries a stated ten-year lifetime.

Smaller

Less heat to shed means less material: the format shrinks without giving up power.

More efficient

Better conversion efficiency: more energy reaches the device, less is lost as heat.

More precise

WiseGaN digital control adjusts conversion in real time instead of following a fixed analogue setpoint.

What sits
inside.

The four shells close onto the central block as you scroll. At rest, the drawing is the engineering one.

Two quilted half-shells, a cream bezel, the plug block, the power board and its connections. The whole thing fits in the palm of a hand.

The casing was designed with the Spanner studio around the board, not the other way round. That constraint is what gives the charger its pebble shape — and what lets 65W fit into this volume.

Wise Integration

Electronics
designed in France.

Wise Integration designs GaN-based power-conversion solutions and the digital control that goes with them, gathered under the name WiseGaN. That is the building block sitting inside TheOne.

Vertical integration — from chip to finished product — gives unusual control over this kind of accessory: component choice, thermal tuning, safety margin, and the ability to evolve the product without starting again from a generic platform.

Three partners

Who does what.

A charger this small is not decided in a meeting. It takes electronics that barely heat, a casing drawn around them, and manufacturing able to hold both promises. Each partner did here what they do better than the others.
